Through the years, the only thing that has changed is the means of acquiring straight, beautiful and shiny hair. It’s a fad that’s been around since before the turn of the century…. In fact since the electric iron was invented back in 1882 women have been using it to straighten their hair. Through the years, the only thing that has changed is the means of acquiring straight, beautiful and shiny hair.

The craze is still around today and it’s not likely to go anywhere anytime soon.

Girls got sick of curls and guys got wise. Frizz was tamed and any fly away strands were dealt with in a couple of easy strokes. Back in the day, ladies would lay out their hair on an ironing board and iron away.

Nowadays it’s made so much easier with the introduction of straightening irons. Not only that, you can also straighten your hair with a good brush and blow dryer.

It’s a special technique but one that gives a different kind of straight look that is fuller, but still does away with the frizz and flyaways.

For women the desire is for Straight, beautiful, shiny sexy hair. For men the desire is more about getting definition with whatever look they’re aiming for. Women with curly or wavy hair can get an entirely new look with straightening their hair.

Some people will straighten their hair every day and in fact do not care for the curly look at all. Also many women with straight hair will use an iron to get the shine and a more defined placement of their hair.

Jennifer Aniston is a good example of someone you would rarely, if ever, see with curls. Although she has many looks they all tend to be straight whether in layers or all one length, coloured or au natural, Jennifer prefers and suits the straight look.

Straight hair is something of a classic and certainly is a chic look. It’s a timeless piece that makes you wanna go straight n’est pas!
